I am from NYC, one of the greatest tourist places in the world, but when you are from New York, you take all of the things everyone wish they had a chance to be a part of for granted. I have been saying for some time now, that I want to start doing tourist things in my city, like walking across the bridge, visiting the Statue Of Liberty, visiting as many museums as possible (we have over 50 here), etc.
It is so hard to visit everywhere in NYC but my family and I have been checking off a lot of things on our list...oh did I add that my daughter is always in tow, and she enjoys all of our adventures; she's such a good sport. Although we have been checking things off our list, there are still so many places to go, but here are my Top 5 Kid Friendly Places To Visit In New York City.
The Children's Museum of Manhattan
There is a reason this specific museum is number one. I absolutely love everything about the Children's Museum of Manhattan from the colors all the way to the activities that they have. My family and I are actually on a museum journey- visiting as many museums as we can and sharing our journey on the blog (www.lovedemitra.com). My daughter has enjoyed all the museums we have been to but this one I love because it is specifically for children. They can run, jump, and touch without any boundaries. They have many activities such as the NYC and Me Exhibit where kids are able to take over the Big Apple by getting on the bus, taking a taxi to their next destination, and stopping to get something to eat at the nearest food vendor, just to name a few. This is a must stop for the kids. Also it is free on the first Friday of every month.
The Sea Glass Carousel
The Sea Glass Carousel is located in Battery Park. This carousel is very unique because it is made up of different fishes, with the most beautiful colors ever, and it gives you a feel like you are riding a fish underwater. It is much more beautiful in person than I can explain, so make sure that it is on your list too.

The Bronx Zoo
Now everyone knows the Bronx Zoo is one of the best zoos ever and I have been to quite a few times! It is one of the largest zoos in the world so plan to stay for a while if you want to see everything. They have a lengthy list of animals, a bug carousel (which my daughter hated), a 4-D theater, camel back riding, and much more. Children under two are free and Wednesdays are donation based entries.

The New York Aquarium
The New York Aquarium definitely has to be on the list. We took our daughter here when she was eight months old and she enjoyed every second of it. She was pointing and babbling so it is safe to say that she really enjoyed herself! I love that the aquarium is opened 365 days a year and the animals are on exhibit all year round. What is an extra bonus is that The New York Aquarium is located right on the Coney Island board walk which means you can visit the famous Coney Island Amusement Park too!

The Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater
You should definitely take the kids here to catch a show. The shows at the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater are all based on children's classics. Right now they are showing Little Red Riding Hood. Tickets are $7.00 for children and $10.00 for adults. The theater is located in the famous Central Park, which means you can have a nice walk or picnic after.

About The Author
Demitra Mensah is my name. Brooklyn, Ny is where I was born and raised. I am a young woman who is still in love with her elementary school sweetheart; 14 years, and one beautiful baby girl later. Life could not be better at this point.
I am a brand new mom to a precious 1 year old; the greatest thing that has happened to me yet. Anyone who knows me, knows that her dad and I are truly obsessed with her, no like SERIOUSLY. We are 1st time parents! What can you say? We’re definitely enjoying the experience.
I am not a professional writer, or anything of that sort, I just want to share my life as a young woman, who is trying her best to balance being a full-time worker, a friend, a sister, a daughter, a lifetime partner, and the best of them all; a mother. My purpose is to inspire other young parents like myself, to be all that you can be, and to show the world that because you’re young doesn’t mean you cannot be a great parent. My post are inspired from God, my loved ones, my personal experiences, my truth, and simply what works for me.
